Thyïlea, a retro TV-dial GMT sportswatch
Thyïlea or more commonly spelled Thule has become synonymous with any destination beyond the borders of the known world. The name on the dial is a reminder of no matter what the goal is, it is about the journey.
The TV-dial shape is a throwback to the late 60’s, early 70’s when the TV had the world gathered around to see spaceflights and wonders across the globe. Watches of that vintage reflected the desire of the new and futuristic.
The Thule brings back some of that nostalgia with an updated design and materials. Titanium for its lightweight and durable properties. Hardened to HV1200 for scratch resistance and sapphire crystal to deck out the fumé sunburst dial.
The Swiss Sellita SW200-1 is regarded as an upgrade to the ETA 2824-2 in some key areas. Sturdier hairspring keeps better timing and improved gears for longevity.
