Thyïlea, a retro TV-dial sportswatch
Thyïlea or more commonly spelled Thule has become synonymous with any destination beyond the borders of the known world. The name on the dial is a reminder of no matter what the goal is, it is about the journey.
The TV-dial shape is a throwback to the late 60’s, early 70’s when the TV had the world gathered around to see spaceflights and wonders across the globe. Watches of that vintage reflected the desire of the new and futuristic.
The Thule brings back some of that nostalgia with an updated design and materials. Titanium for its lightweight and durable properties. Hardened to HV1200 for scratch resistance and sapphire crystal to deck out the fumé sunburst dial.
Inside you will find the Seiko NH35 automatic movement, a highly regarded movement from Japan, a true workhorse.
Now also in fully bead blasted finish.
“If you fancy a TV-dial watch, there’s no better option than the Aevig Thule.” Watchyawant
” You have to love and understand the history of TV-dial watches to appreciate what Yuen has created.” Fratello watches
“if you’re sick of seeing the same trends recycled in the micro-brand space, you’ll find something to love here from Aevig.” Worn and Wound
“As usual, Chip has cooked up a gorgeous new Aevig for us.” The Time Bum
